Deadline to apply is 30 April 2017

Frankfurt am Main, 8 March 2017 – Exchanging experiences, professionalisation, internationalisation – with the Frankfurt Fellowship Programme, the Frankfurter Buchmesse has made these three goals a top priority. The Frankfurter Buchmesse’s renowned programme is entering its 20th year: Since 1998, it has been promoting the exchange of information and networking between international publishers, editors, agents and licensing managers. Applications for the programme are now being accepted, and the deadline to apply is 30 April 2017. In addition to rights managers, publishers and editors in particular are encouraged to apply.

“For me, as a young publisher, the Frankfurt Fellowship Programme was my point of entry into the international publishing scene. Here I could have conversations with publishing colleagues from around the world and learn exciting things about sectors and markets which I only had limited exposure to in my day-to-day work. In the process, the Frankfurt Fellowship has developed into a global professional network that continues to benefit me in my work”, says Michael Zöllner, publishing CEO of Klett-Cotta Verlag.

This year’s Frankfurt Fellowship Programme will take place from 1 to 15 October 2017. The programme includes visits to publishers and booksellers in Frankfurt, Berlin and one additional city. As part of their visit, which culminates in participation in the Frankfurter Buchmesse (11-15 October 2017), Frankfurt Fellows learn about various book markets, take part in matchmaking events and expand their network.

Applicants should have several years experience in the publishing industry and a good command of English. The application form and other relevant information about applying to the Frankfurt Fellowship Programme 2017 is available here.
