Frankfurt, 28 September 2017 – From Lafer to Henze, food blogs to #instawalk, French pâtisserie to Indonesian street food: The culinary world comes together in all its variety on 1,000 square metres in the Gourmet Gallery (Hall 3.1, K 90 to L 135). And the focus isn’t just on food as such, but also on the stories behind it: What, for example, is the origin and cultivation of food all about? In competing for customers, storytelling is becoming increasingly central, which is giving the publishing industry’s “food” segment a boost.
The following is a selection of events from the programme.
MIELE “dialogue cooker”
Premium partner Miele introduces its world-first innovation, the “dialogue cooker”: This revolutionary cooking process, which will be presented live in the show kitchen, is “in dialogue” with food.

National cuisines and images
Foreign countries and good food often go hand in hand. Come along on a culinary tour of France (the Frankfurter Buchmesse Guest of Honour), China or Korea. In 2019, Norway will be Guest of Honour at the Frankfurter Buchmesse.

Networking for foodies and the press
Every morning at 9:00 am, the food community meets for a business breakfast in the show kitchen of the Gourmet Gallery. Publishers, authors and journalists chat over coffee and a buffet – which not only bolsters their network, but also provides them with plenty of energy for the day. Also enjoy the experience of Next 125’s stylish world of kitchens.

The food blog talk
In conversation with food blogger Sophia Hoffmann (“Sophias vegane Welt” – “Sophia’s Vegan World”), food bloggers like Heike Niemoeller (“Relleomein”), Stevan Paul (“NutriCulinary”), Katharina Brömel (“Streetfoodjunkies”) and others discuss their two passions: food and blogs.

Pastry chef and food blogger Tobi Müller invites visitors on an #instawalk – a walk with Instagram snapshots – around the Gourmet Gallery. Stops along the way include partners and exhibitors from this thematic world as well as other German cookbook publishers.

Food in the trash

Christian Henze: This is how we cook today
A new dish every day? One the whole family likes? And that, ideally, is fast and easy to prepare? This is a familiar dilemma for Christian Henze, the popular television chef from the programme “MDR um 4”, who presents delicious and easy-to-cook dishes from his new book “So kocht man heute” (“This is How We Cook Today”) – food tastings guaranteed.

For the third year in a row, the Frankfurter Buchmesse and its partner Gourmand International (organiser of the World Cookbook Fair) is showcasing the international cookbook community at the fair. The World Cookbook Fair will be its own little fair within the fair, with exhibitors from over 30 countries, including Italy, France, Russia, Australia, China and Korea. Also once again in 2017, the networking party “Nocturne” will brilliantly kick things off for international foodies in the show kitchen L99. And, every day, the Deutsche Weininstitut (German Wine Institute) will host a happy hour in the Gourmet Salon.
