German Book Office (GBO) New Delhi, which began its operations in 2008, is a joint venture between the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
As such it has a dual mandate of promoting the commercial activities of Frankfurt Book Fair in the South Asian region along with the cultural aspect of promoting the exchange of German and Indian (including neighboring countries) literature between the two regions.

In cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office, the Frankfurt Book Fair conducts Book Information Centres (BIZ) and German Book Offices (GBO) in Beijing, New York, New Delhi and Moscow. We are currently seeking a successor to the director of the GBO in New Delhi, to start work at the earliest possible date.
You will be responsible for managing the GBO New Delhi - its cultural activities as well as implementing the office's market and customer strategies.

Editor's Trip to Germany "Crime Fiction", from 11-15 June 2012
Since one of the key aims of the GBO New Delhi is to link up the Indian and the German publishing industry, another Publishers’ Trip to Germany will take place in June 2012. Meeting publishers from Germany in person will give the participants a unique insight into the publishing industry. The focus of this year’s trip will lie on the theme “Crime Fiction”. Publishing houses specialised in this field will be visited in Berlin and Hamburg to get to know the key players in Germany. All publishers from South Asia, publishing in the field of “Crime Fiction”, are encouraged to apply from today onwards.
