With funding from the Federal Foreign Office, the Frankfurt Book Fair operates information offices in important and interesting foreign markets.
The Book Information Centres in Moscow and Beijing and and the German Book Offices (GBO) in New York and New Delhi apply indepth knowledge and commitment to the promotion of exchange between the German book market and that of their respective host country.
You want to know which books people are talking about and what topics are on German readers’ minds? Every year, the Frankfurt Book Fair puts together a number of book collections on different topical subjects. These are currently being discussed in Germany and also noted with interest in other countries. The standard collections include children’s books, new literary releases and a selection of the best German book designs.

With a wide range of activities, the Book Information Centres and the German Book Offices encourage existing interest in German books and in so doing, promote rights & licence sales and book exports.
The goal of the GBO is to make German literature accessible to the American book market.
We seek to achieve this goal by acting as a liaison between our contacts in both the German and American publishing industries, and fostering relationships within both communities. Every year, the GBO invites a number of American editors on a trip to Germany, in order to create personal contacts between the two groups.

German Book Office (GBO), New Delhi is a joint venture of the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
