Professional Programme
Our comprehensive professional programme featured numerous seminars, talks and guided tours of the Fair organised by themes. The programme could have served as an efficient and affordable career training option for you and your staff!
The professional programme provided trade visitors and exhibitors from all industries and nations with interesting opportunities for professional training: booksellers, publishing professionals from rights and editorial departments, production managers, service providers for the publishing business - our offers included interesting events for everyone.
Key topic: Crossmedia – New Methods for Marketing and Communication
This year, the key topic was "Crossmedia - New Methods for Marketing and Communication". It featured methods and tools for improving the way you appeal to relevant customer groups via a variety of channels, targeting message dissemination and exploiting synergetic effects even more successfully in future.
Focus on: International Book Markets
- Business Breakfasts - Wednesday to Friday, 9.30 a.m. - 10.30 a.m.
The Business Breakfasts have always been a popular feature at Frankfurt. This is where publishers can obtain useful information on international publishing markets, identify trends and make new business contacts.
- Tea Times
Afternoon tea will offer another opportunity to share market insights and establish new contacts.
- "Have a look at ..."
The "Have a look at ..." series of events also gave you an opportunity to find out about the market in a particular country and to make new business contacts - directly at the collective stand of the country in question. After a brief introductory presentation, you could have spoken to the publishers represented there.
To facilitate contacts before the Fair, we passed on a list of registered participants to the respective organisers, that is, those responsible for the collective stand.
Focus on: Rights, Licences and the Digital Challenge
In 2009 we offered various programmes on the subject of rights, piracy and the issue of digitisation. And the Google Settlement of course had a place in the programme.
Special features for booksellers
We had specific seminars and talks for booksellers from Germany and all over the world, providing you with the tools and methods you need for your business to succeed.
