A visa requirement applies for many countries’ nationals who wish to enter Germany.
An up-to-date list of all countries subject to visa regulations, as well as those which are not, can be obtained from the German Federal Foreign Office.
Table of countries
Information, contact persons, letters of invitation
The decision on whether a visa is being issued or not lies with the German embassies and the consulates-general exclusively. You can find general information on visa on the website of the German Federal Foreign Office.
Exhibitors, trade visitors and journalists from countries subject to a visa requirement must contact the relevant German mission abroad (embassy or consulate-general) in good time to inform themselves about specific local conditions that may apply.
You can obtain a list of websites of the German foreign missions from the
German Federal Foreign Office website.
During peak travelling periods you may need to wait very long to get an appointment for your visa application, so please be sure to submit it early.
Information regarding the documents required is also available from the website of the respective foreign mission for your area, or from the local mission itself.
The Frankfurt Book Fair will be happy to help by sending you a letter of invitation from 1 May up to 1 September 2014. However, this does not guarantee the success of your visa application.
If you are registered and listed in the Who’s Who, you can request your visa-related letter of invitation here. If you have not yet completed your registration, please follow this link:
