As a child I wanted to be an architect, but I am attracted by challenges, so I chose to study physics. Looking for a way back into a world made of words rather then figures, I ended up at Alpha Test, where for ten years I have applied my scientific mentality under different boundary conditions.

I matured as a publishing professional by engaging in different tasks, both on the editorial and the commercial fronts. I am currently the director of two popular non-fiction series, in science and general culture (the latter consisting of quiz books). I am also in charge of selling translation rights for the Alpha Test group. After attending the Stanford Professional Publishing Course in 2008, I have been experimenting with some web tools for marketing our books.

I am a teacher at the School of Science Communication at Sissa, Trieste, where I scout for young talents in non-fiction. I freelance as a science writer myself, when the opportunity arises.
Alpha Test was set up in 1987 around the idea of organising courses to prepare high school students for university admission tests; soon, a dedicated book series was created, which has grown into a successful publishing house; and then a school and career orientation activity was added. Finally, the Sironi Editore imprint was opened in 2002 to publish fiction and non-fiction trade books.
Today, Alpha Test is among the most solid independent publishing houses in Italy

42!

In a restaurant at the very heart of Berlin, over a glass of good wine, we devised an alternative gate to the English language global market. Details will be given in next year’s “Series: Future of the industry – new business models” of the Frankfurt Book Fair’s newsletter. Err.
… and we go.

ps

Tanti auguri Jeremy!
