The flight from Melbourne, Australia takes about 22 and half hours to London Heathrow, and then another couple of hours to get to Frankfurt, so you can imagine how full of energy I am right now! However, having had a couple of days in the UK to recover, and a very pleasant evening cruise along the Main, I’m really looking forward to contributing to this blog, and to Frankfurt’s daily news service.
Bookseller+Publisher, the magazine of the Australian book trade, has had a close relationship with the fair for some years. I had the great pleasure of addressing the fair’s opening press conference in 2005, and we have contributed to the fair’s news service for three years now.
Australians love to travel, and I love coming here to cheer on the Australian (and New Zealand) contingent, and to provide coverage of the world’s most important book fair. This year, I’m joined by my colleague Andrea Hanke, who will also be contributing stories to this blog.
Please come back regularly to read about the events happening around the fair.
