Hall 30, Stand B 34 at 5:00p.m.
With 1,200 exhibitors from over 70 countries annually, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the world’s leading children’s book fair.
At the heart of the event is the major presence of international illustration, supported each year by an illustration exhibition dedicated to a given country. Croatia is the Guest of Honour at the 2015 BCBF.
The importance of the fair is heightened by the presentation of the internationally renowned Bologna Ragazzi Award, which often serves as a springboard to successful business for smaller, less well-known publishers.
In Bologna, authors, illustrators, publishers, agents, TV & film producers, booksellers and librarians – and, recently, representatives of the digital industries as well – come together to acquire and sell rights, make new contacts, develop new lines of business and discuss trends. No other event offers such a concentrated overview of current topics in the children’s and young adult book market.
Bologna Ragazzi Award
All exhibitors are cordially invited to the presentation of the Ragazzi Award – celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The fair will announce the exact time and location. On the occasion of the Milan Expo and its theme of “Feeding the Planet” there will be a special "Books and Seeds" prize. Titles submitted on this subject will be shown at the Salaborsa Library during the BCBF and will then travel on to Milan.
