The campaigns background and what companies the Wildcard award is looking for: Markus Gogolin (Director of Marketing and Communications DACH) explains: "What we mean by publishing has changed fundamentally as a result of digitalisation. There are new actors in the content market - start-ups, for example, that offer similar products as the book industry. It's these new players that we want to reach through this low-threshold competition. What's important for winning the Wildcard award is that you tell an original story about your product. In this way, the Frankfurt Book Fair wishes to reward innovative marketing ideas in publishing by giving them a stand and presenting them to the world."
